Eagle Tae kwon do History

Our school originally began as Spartan Taekwondo 19 years ago at St. Lorenz school in Frankenmuth, Michigan under the head instruction of 7th Degree Black Belt Master Scott Stedry.  The school is dedicated to the art, science and sport of taekwondo and bound by its five tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.  Prior to Spartan Taekwondo, Master Stedry led the following schools:

    • 1995 - Yudanja Taekwondo - Essexville, Michigan

    • 2001 – Spirit Taekwondo – Caro, Michigan

Eagle Taekwondo is part of the American Chung Do Kwan, Limited Association (ACDKL), which has schools and instructors in various parts of the United States.  As stated in its website, the purpose of ACDKL is to bring the Korean martial art of Taekwondo to the common public for all to learn and benefit from, and to improve society and advance the art and sport of Taekwondo.

If you are interested in learning more about Taekwondo, we encourage you to inquire with any questions you have. We look forward to training you in the amazing martial art of Taekwondo!

Tenets of Taekwondo

As we train, we keep in mind the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwan:

    • Respect/Courtesy—to everyone.

    • Honesty/Integrity—of moral character, do what is right.

    • Perseverance—keep trying, be patient and steadfast, especially in tough situations.

    • Self-Control—over your emotions, actions, and words.

    • Indomitable Spirit—to never tire, quit, or give up. Keep a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Also remember the Student Oath:

I will always use my knowledge of Tae Kwon Do in a positive way. My conduct will always be a credit to my instructor and the American Chung Do Kwan Limited. I will always use my training in a calm and patient manner.
